Dear Parents and Carers,

Please see my end of term letter for my reflections on the last 5 months. Click here to read it if you haven’t done so already.

Throughout the next 6 weeks the school will continue to be very busy in preparation for September – we have started our conversion of the library into a Media Resource Centre, this will hold 80 computers for students to book and complete silent study. More information on that to follow in the new year. Our library will move into the Sixth Form Silent Study area, more information coming on that too!

By September, the school will have completed an extensive repainting programme.

New outside seating will arrive to enable us to accommodate our students at social times.

The pylons at the top of our field are being removed which will increase our field space and improve our athletics and cricket facilities.

Woodlands Avenue driveway is being resurfaced, with crossing points and speed humps.

Another deep clean will occur in the last week of August.

Also, very exciting, our new website will be launched in September!

I would just like to thank you all again for your ongoing support. I will be in touch on August 13th and 20th with any updates I have.

I hope you have a restful summer and I look forward to welcoming all the students back in September.

Headteachers Awards…

Every year we have our Headteachers Award ceremony and even though we are in lockdown it is still important to continue to celebrate success.  Miss Bishop and other colleagues have produced the ceremony virtually. Please click on the link below for the presentation. Congratulations to all of the winners, your certificate is in the post and your trophy is here in school to collect in September!

I’d just like to thank all of the staff involved and for making the ceremony possible.

Mindfulness activities from Dr Jigounova….With the summer term coming to end, it is a good time to reflect on the past four months. I hope we will return to some sort of recognisable normality in September, and reflecting on what we learned about ourselves over the past months can be a big help in moving on. Taking  time to reflect, praising yourself for overcoming difficulties and thinking of good things you anticipate in future builds up confidence and reduced stress.

With this in mind, I wanted to introduce you to this reflection meditation:

Have a restful holiday!
