Head boy Alex Woods and Head girl Natalie Legg welcomed 8 teachers from China to the school recently.

The teachers are studying at the International Study and Languages Institute at Reading University.

As well as observing our teachers and teaching practices, they also took Year 7 classes, exploring the differences between the lifestyles of our own children and those they teach in China. The Year 7's had a lot of fun trying Tai Chi, Kung Fu, traditional Chinese paper cutting, mask making and Chinese traditional dance.

Alex and Natalie commented:

“Taking the Chinese teachers on a tour around the school was interesting and insightful to understand the differences between English and Chinese Schools. Although, in China they are known for their high standards of teaching STEM subjects, the tour allowed us to appreciate the diverse prospectus given at the Bulmershe School.”
