On Tuesday 7th March students in years 7, 8, 9 & 11 had the opportunity to delve into the world of virtual reality courtesy of the Google Expeditions Pioneer Programme.

Mr Bradbury's year 11 GCSE PE class were taken on a tour of the skeletal, respiratory and muscular system, whilst Miss Arif was able to accompany her year 8 students on a journey through World War 2.  Geography teachers, Miss Emerson and Miss Garrard led their year 7 students on a wonderful expedition of the Coral Reef and Miss Emerson even had time to show students around Venice!

The students involved found it an amazing experience and as one year 7 put it 'it allowed us to go to places we would never normally be able to'.  Students were able to sample this experience through the use of smart phones and Google Cardboard and their journey was directed by the teacher using a tablet.

A massive thanks to Google for coming in to demonstrate and allow our students to use this unique way of learning.  We hope Google will return later in the year to allow more students this fantastic opportunity.
