Bulmershe Big Bronze Expedition

The first week back at school following a relaxing half term saw a convoy of mini buses loaded with bright eyed and bushy tailed DofE students setting off to complete their bronze assessment.

They worked hard in what were challenging weather conditions over two days in the Pangbourne and Reading West area. Rain, sun and rainbows made for conditions that kept pupils guessing but their navigation skills shone through in the end and they were all successful in completing the expedition section with flying colours.

Camping proved to be a very enjoyable part of the expedition with lovely weather conditions at Rushall Farm and excellent demonstrations of campcraft and cooking skills by all students. A visit from Miss Emerson who gave each group a warm welcome into camp was also a lovely touch.

We are over the moon that all students experienced such success and could demonstrate their skills for assessors over the trip. We now look forward to seeing them challenge themselves to finish the rest of the programme and receive their full Bronze awards in the end of year presentations in July.

Another thank you to Miss Bishop, Mr McArdle, Mr Woods, Miss Roberts, Mrs Goddard, Miss Brown and Mr Leach,   without their time and effort this would not have been possible.
