Media Studies at The Bulmershe School

Welcome to the Media Studies department. Media Studies is taught at GCSE, AS and A2 and follows the WJEC/Eduqas and AQA examination board. It is an increasingly popular subject at The Bulmershe School.

The subject blends theory and practical work and focuses on many topics from across the industry, including broadcasting, advertising, print, e-media, video gaming and music.

Starting at GCSE level students will not only learn how to analyse and interpret a wide range of media texts, but also how to use photoshop and video editing software to plan, create and evaluate productions of their own.

At AS and A2 level students study the industry in greater depth from both theoretical and practical perspectives and will consider media texts more critically and analytically, culminating in an individual production and investigation on a media related issue of their choice.

Should you wish to contact a teacher in this department please contact the subject leader, Mr C Mooney.
