Head of Computing and Business Faculty

Required for September 2017

Full time, permanent

TLR 2.3 (£6,450)

We are looking for an outstanding teacher to lead our Computing and Business Faculty  from September 2017.

Experience of leading others or clear potential to lead is key to this role and we can offer secondment placements on our leadership team to the right applicant. We have a strong track record of talent management and helping colleagues reach their professional potential.

The ability to teach Computer Science to Key Stage 5 is essential however it is not essential to have experience of teaching or specialist  knowledge of Business Studies as this area of the role can be solely  managerial.

From September 2017 we will merge these two popular and successful departments into one faculty in order to make the very best use of our excellent facilities and teaching expertise.

The Computing and Business Faculty is based on two sites; our new entrance block which houses two computer suites and a further suite of classrooms.

Links with local, regional and national companies are  strong; our business partners are Oracle. We work over the academic year with IBM, Microsoft, and Telefonica. We run popular trips, clubs and events including a key stage three event at Legoland, STEM club, Enterprise projects and competitions such as the ICM  stock market event.

Both subjects are popular and, in particular, we see increasing interest in Computer Science  at Key stage five.

Maths Teacher

Required for September 2017

Full time, permanent

Salary commensurate with experience

We welcome applications from NQTs

Due to relocation of a current member of staff we now have an opportunity available for a Maths teacher.

Our Maths department is an established department with experienced teachers many of whom hold positions of responsibility within the school. The team work tirelessly to achieve outstanding results both at GCSE and A level. Our outcomes have improved significantly over the past 4 years and we consistently achieve much higher than national outcomes for all groups of students. Take up at A level is very strong, making A level maths one of the most popular subjects in the school. We also offer Further Maths at A level.

Teaching and Learning within the department is exciting, forward thinking and progressive. Our more able mathematicians benefit from studying Additional Maths alongside their GCSE. Lower down the school, our more able year 7 students are following a Maths programme designed with the support of Simon Singh, mathematician, journalist, writer and TV producer, and 3 other schools in the country. The department is also piloting flipped learning in our Maths classrooms.

We will consider applications as they arrive in school. To book an appointment for an informal chat with the Head teacher, Emma Reynolds, please contact Caroline Miles, PA to the Headteacher on 0118 9353353.
