Thinking of a career in teaching? Please read on:

The Bulmershe School has a long tradition of partnership with Reading University as a training school and is part of the Wokingham Secondary School Federation.

Here are just a few of the comments made by Ofsted who awarded our school 'Good' in December 2013:

'A determination that all students should make rapid progress, based on outstanding teaching combined with a high level of care for the individual child, is shared across the school.'

'Students make good progress...'

'Teaching is good and sometimes outstanding.'

'Students' behaviour, both in lessons and around the school, is very good.'

'Students' very positive attitudes to learning contribute to their good progress in lessons.'

In 2016 – 2017 we will welcome trainees in each of the following subjects:

  • Physics
  • English
  • Chemistry
  • Drama
  • History
  • PE

If you are considering a career in Teaching, further information about all aspects of the profession, including bursaries, can be found at:

As you can see, The Bulmershe School is an ideal school in which to undertake a training year. With a Good OfSTED report and a £6 million capital build recently completed, it is an exciting and rewarding place to work.
