We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistant to join our successful SEND team and thriving school. The Bulmershe SEND department has its own base with fantastic facilities which offer a superb environment in which to work and learn. We are a friendly and supportive team of 15 staff who have a wealth of experience. In an ever-changing world, we continue to learn and adapt in order to best support our student community.

The role is to provide support for those students identified by the SENDCo/Deputy SENDCo and/or Head of Year who need extra intervention(s) to ensure they reach their full potential. This includes but is not limited to:

  • targeted literacy and numeracy support with smaller groups and/or 1:1 with students
  • targeted social skills and emotional regulation/zones of regulation support with smaller groups and/or 1:1 with students
  • supporting students with re-integration back into lessons, particularly those with SEMH needs
  • supporting students in their mainstream lessons
  • integrating our therapy dog into smaller group/1:1 sessions, as appropriate
  • monitoring and logging students accessing the Oasis centre
  • preparing and developing resources for learning activities
  • monitoring, recording and reporting on the progress made by students during these sessions
  • most importantly, approaching this role with a student-centred approach and ensuring that student voice is at the heart of everything we do
