Student Council and Student Voice
We pride ourselves in welcoming what students have to say about their learning and their overall experience at school. Our Student Council is a vital part of our School Community in giving you the voice and opportunity to work with staff to improve our school.
Our head students carry out regular meetings with groups of students from each year group’ school council representatives to find out their views and to discuss school-related matters that are important to them. The Head Students then present all the collected ideas and present them to the Leadership Team for consideration. All the replies and actions taken by Leadership are then shared with the whole student body in tutor time and assemblies.
There are two elected Student Councillors per tutor group. At the beginning of the school year all students are invited to put together an election presentation with which they hope to canvas votes from their tutor group peers. Those elected will join the half-termly meetings to ensure every student voice is heard.
The School Council makes a real difference by involving all students in active citizenship. They also raise significant amounts for charity through non-uniform days and other events.
