Key Stage 3
Years 7, 8 and 9
Upon entering our school, Students will follow programme based around the national curriculum through their Key Stage 3. The school operates a banding approach to help with reporting and targeting, and each child is given the opportunity to move up and down the bands throughout key stage 3.
When children join year 7 they experience some subjects for the first time, and their timetable is designed to provide a good coverage of a wide range of opportunities.
The school operates a two-week timetable, with 5 periods of 1 hour each day. The majority of subjects are taught by mixed ability, however, there are sets in Maths, Science, and Languages. We use a range of data to assist in the tracking and monitoring of students progress and to assist in the setting. You can read more about our Key Stage 3 reporting here.
