Activities for Year 6
As Year 6 students prepare to start their journey at secondary school, we want to make sure they feel excited and confident about the transition. At The Bulmershe School, we invite Year 6 pupils from local Woodley primary schools to join us for special enrichment events designed to help them get ready for secondary school life.
These activities give Year 6s a chance to experience what school life will be like at Bulmershe, meet their future peers, and get familiar with our school environment. Led by our friendly Year 9 and 10 peer mentors, the sessions are designed to be fun and informative, showing Year 6 students that the move to secondary school is an exciting next step, not something to worry about.
Our current annual event for Year 6 students is our History Discovery day, which you can discover more about below.
History Discovery Day
Our History Discovery Days invite Year 6 students to explore history in an interactive and hands-on way, sparking curiosity about the past. These engaging events provide students with the chance to participate in activities like examining historical artefacts and learning through immersive experiences. Visiting our school allows them to see how subjects come to life in secondary school, helping to ease their transition by giving them a taste of what to expect in their future studies and the exciting learning environment at Bulmershe.
