Why did you choose to come to The Bulmershe School?

Bulmershe stood out to me because of its community feel that other schools didn’t have, including a feeling of welcome, while never appearing huge and intimidating. Not to mention how exciting all the new subjects that I would be able to explore looked, especially the drama department, which exceeded my expectations and furthered my passions for theatre.

How has The Bulmershe School inspired you to strive for your aspirations and dreams?

I think this school has always been focused on fostering each person's specific passions and, for me, I feel like I have been encouraged to pursue exactly that. As opposed to forcing every student down the route of a traditional university, I was encouraged to pursue what would work best for me whether that was university, work, an apprenticeship or in my case performing arts.

How do you feel the co-curricular (extra-curricular clubs, trips, opportunities) experience at The Bulmershe School has benefited you?

The yearly school production has undoubtedly been the best experience of clubs at Bulmershe because it not only creates a great experience of theatre and an opportunity to perform, but it also is the perfect way to bring students all the way from year 7 to year 13 together, inspiring each other. However there have also been numerous theatre trips and I have great memories of each one of those.

What would you say is your favourite moment so far in your time at The Bulmershe School?

Starting Sixth Form was really great for me because I was able to focus only on the subjects I loved and I had more freedom to be independent. It has allowed me to spend time outside of lessons working on my extra-curricular activities as well which is really important to me!

What is your favourite subject and why?

Unsurprisingly, my favourite subject is Drama. From becoming different characters and creating your own pieces to studying plays it is a culmination of all the things I love. Not to mention it is taught by the most dedicated teachers, who are a source of support and kindness for so many students.

What advice would you give to a student about to join The Bulmershe School

Take advantage of every opportunity that is presented to you, and don’t take life too seriously! There is so much to discover and explore for all of us but especially as we move into new chapters, so this is a cause for excitement and there is no need to be scared, make the most of it!
