Transition Resources
Moving to secondary school is an exciting step, but it can also feel like a big change. To help your child feel prepared and confident, we recommend Be Awesome, Go Big—a fantastic do-at-home resource designed to support students as they transition into Year 7.
Based on the bestselling books You Are Awesome by Matthew Syed and Go Big: The Secondary School Survival Guide by Matthew Burton, this programme is motivational, practical and reassuring. Each interactive session explores key themes such as confidence, resilience, and making new friends—helping your child feel valued, encouraged, and ready for the journey ahead.
Your child can work through the activities at their own pace, recording their thoughts in the accompanying workbook. This is a great way to start discussions at home and build excitement about starting at The Bulmershe School.
Download the resources below and help your child take their first steps towards a successful transition to Year 7.
