Religious Studies

Back

Welcome to the Religious Studies department.  Religious Studies is offered at KS3 and GCSE. The Religious Studies teachers have used the Berkshire Locally Agreed Syllabus to plan a curriculum suited to our students, school and wider community. The aim is to give students the opportunity to develop their awareness of the rich and varied cultures and beliefs of the world, the UK and the local area.

What happens at KS3?

Students follow an engaging curriculum that enables them to enquire, analyse and evaluate the major world religions and secular approaches to give them a secure knowledge and understanding of religion, philosophy and ethics.

What happens beyond KS3?

For GCSE we offer the AQA Religious Studies Specification A GCSE course. This course gives students a chance to explore big questions about life and ethics. They will build upon the skills and content developed at KS3, expressing their opinion and consider a variety of others, including religious and non-religious views.
