This fortnight, the PE department has been celebrating the holiday season in a unique and engaging way with its festive enrichment curriculum. Pupils across the year group have been taking part in indoor athletics events and various games activities, all designed to promote fun, friendly competition, and valuable life skills.

While the events were full of excitement and festive spirit, they also had a deeper purpose. The activities were carefully crafted to encourage students to demonstrate both their social and affective skills. These skills were integral to the PE department's assessments, helping pupils develop teamwork, leadership, perseverance, sportsmanship, and a positive attitude.

From the very beginning, the pupils excelled. The teamwork and communication on display were outstanding. Students made sure all their peers participated in every event, ensuring inclusivity and support for one another. Their motivation was contagious, with many cheering each other on and offering words of encouragement throughout the competitions. Whether working independently or as part of a team, they showed remarkable focus and dedication.

What truly stood out was the level of leadership shown by the students. In many instances, they took charge of the activities, with teachers providing supervision rather than direction. This independence and initiative demonstrated how well the students have embraced the values of teamwork and personal responsibility.

The festive enrichment curriculum not only provided a fun way for pupils to engage in healthy competition but also highlighted their ability to work together, lead, and support one another. The PE department is proud of the exceptional effort and positive attitudes shown, making this season's activities a resounding success.
